Sadhana means any practice of self-correction that provides the mind and body with a disciplined channel to express the infinite within one’s self. It is the daily spiritual practice of Kundalini yogis and yoginis. Early morning sadhana or group sadhana is experienced during the ambrosial hours. The ambrosial hours are before the dawn and are known as the Amrit Vela, or “morning nectar.” During these hours, you are able to deeply affect your subconscious mind and change your habits. The early morning hours are a time when the rest of the world around you is quiet; it’s the time when sages meditate.
The experience of early morning sadhana is enhanced tenfold when done in a group. The day that follows waking up in the Amrit vela and experiencing Sadhana flows with ease and allows a greater opportunity to stay connected to your own sense of truth. You are able to communicate clearly and able to understand to a greater capacity.
The Aquarian Sadhana, as given by Yogi Bhajan, starts with recitation of a prayer poem called Japji, followed by a Kundalini Yoga set and specific set of chants. Click the link below to review the chants.
